Just for fun - TREES

We decided with all the craziness of Black Friday, that we would do a challenge just for fun. The theme of this just for fun challenge is TREES.

My family waits until the day after Thanksgiving  to put up our Christmas tree. One holiday at a time you know. I made this Christmas tree card for my daughter to put on her desk in her dorm room. You can read more about it on MY BLOG.  I hope you will come read about how I made my card.

As soon as I heard that our just-for-fun challenge was TREES, I thought of one of my favorite dies,
Impression Obsession's "Tree Line". I popped the die-cut up with dimensionals and love how the shadows look behind the die-cut image.. Visit Meticulosity to see the other supplies I used. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving..Now it's time to put on some holiday music and get the tree decorated..

Growing up in upstate New York, I was surrounded by majestic, stately trees.  And, the first snow on those beauties was always a site to behold.  I miss it so much, living in the South now, but the memories are always there.  Hold on to your memories;  they make you smile when you least expect it.

Hi! Pam here. Every year, my daughter Bailey is gaga over decorating. True to form, she was decorating for Christmas this morning and we still had some fall decorations hanging around for our Thanksgiving feast. I have so much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving.....especially that my health is on the mend and I get to spend the holidays with wonderful family and friends!  So grateful for each and every person that has touched my life!
Check out my card deets on my blog!

The last few years we haven't had a tree at our house. Our artificial one looks horrible & needs to be thrown out, we used it for 10+ years so I guess we got our money's worth out of it & none of us are sorry to see it go. The past two years, we've been using homemade trees! My husband made his from wood in his shop and it looks like a miniature tree painted green (very traditional); my younger son did the Charlie Brown-type tree using PVC as the center post with wood "arms" gong to each side that he will hang the smaller decorations on; my older son got very creative & made his tree using used guitar strings, an old tin, and a pick as the "star" - it's pretty neat. My tree was a "ribbon" tree suspended from the ceiling... a total flop as far as trees are concerned. We have no clue what we're doing this year!

MPC November Blog Hop, Giveaway & Guest Designer!

November is the one month out of the year that many of us take the time ro reflect on what we are thankful for. Mountain Plains Crafters is so thankful to have Unity Stamp Company and Tombow USA Adhesives as sponsors! Some of our design team members will be incorporating both companies' products into their projects, and one lucky fan will win a big prize from both Unity Stamps and Tombow!

Angela Magnuson and Unity Stamps have been with us since day one and we are so appreciative of all that she does.  If you haven't visited Unity yet, what are you waiting for?  They make superb, high quality, red rubber stamps. But that's not all! Unity has lots of accessories (I love their wooden Bow Maker!) and have recently branched out to apparel as well. Check out their Facebook page here and visit their website here to see their amazing line of products. Give them a shoutout on Facebook and thank them for sponsoring the giveaway at MPC!

Tombow USA is our newest sponsor and they are a company we are so proud to work with. Our design team is loving the Xtreme adhesive runner and Mono glue! Check out the Tombow Facebook page and visit their website too. There's lots of creating and inspiration going on over there.  Give them a shoutout also on Facebook and thank them for sponsoring the giveaway at MPC!

Both Tombow and Unity Stamps have donated a fabulous prize.  The winner of this Rafflecopter giveaway will receive 3 full size products from Tombow:
Xtreme adhesive runner, Aqua Mono glue and Hook and Loop fasteners.

And from Unity Stamps: 6 Christmas Itty Bitty Stamps.
Let me tell you, there is nothing itty bitty about these stamps.
They are bigger than you think!

The winner gets the whole shabang and your package will arrive in plenty of time to make some fabulous Christmas creations with these new goodies.

We also are excited to introduce you to our first ever guest blogger, Angeline Choo from Scrappy Scrappy!  We love Angeline and her quirky, cute style.  She's also on the design team for Unity Stamps and brings the most amazing creations to the table every single week!  Angeline will be hopping with us on Friday.  Go like the Scrappy Scrappy Facebook page if you haven't already!

Here's the lineup.  Be sure and visit each design team member's blog and leave a comment, then enter the Rafflecopter giveaway.  Come back tomorrow to finish the hop!

Birthday card trio

Just thought I'd share what I'm working on today, part of a custom order of all occasion cards.  This trio features the Unity Stamp set, Birthday Jubilee and was watercolored with distress markers.  The buttons were a freebie from Unity Stamps.  I love that they put freebies in every single order!  It's always something different too; FabScraps, Authentique - you never know but you can be assured it'll be something fun AND useful!

Be sure and check back on November 13th and 14th here on our Community Facebook page.  Our design team is having a blog hop and guess who we're featuring?  Yup.  Unity Stamps.  And Tombow Adhesive.  Plus there's an awesome prize up for grabs.  Oh, and a surprise guest designer too.  Lots happening and it's all good fun!
